The first of a trilogy, this New York Times Bestseller has a few twists and turns that may leave you wondering “Who is the real bad guy here?”
What is The Housemaid About?
Millie is an attractive young woman, recently released from prison after serving a 10-year sentence for a crime she doesn’t want to discuss. Her criminal record has made finding work and a safe place to live a nightmare. She is desperate for the opportunity to regain her independence.
Luckily, Millie is interviewed by Nina Winchester, a wealthy woman either too trusting or too busy to check Millie’s criminal history. After a short wait following a great interview, Millie receives a call from Nina inviting her to move into the lovely Winchester Estate as a full-time, live-in housemaid. Overjoyed to finally move out of her car and into this lovely home — complete with its picturesque gardens and Enzo, the handsome Italian gardener — Millie plans to work hard to earn a stellar recommendation from the Winchesters. Finally, things are looking up.
